…and it arrived at the inquiry.
There’s a shift that happens when the heart and the mind come into agreement. The pillowy comfort we once found in whatever narrative kept us stuck now feels like a bed of thorns. Misplaced blame/anger/judgment sours on the tongue. The self-proclaimed safety net becomes so worn from years of flexing and adjusting that we fear what it would mean to no longer contain it.
Who am I without this? What am I outside of that?
At some point of our lives, we’ve asked this question to some capacity. Especially when it comes to deconstructing relationships and belief systems that no longer resonate. It’s from this inquiry where a significant portion of our healing takes form.
There’s a level of honesty we’re being aligned to when these questions come to surface. It starts off subtle, maybe it comes to mind and your first thought is to dismiss it. Deny you heard it. Saw it. Felt it.
But it persists. It becomes louder. More prominent. Then you notice Spirit giving you a helping hand by placing you in this position where you must make a decision.
Do we continue circling the same drains because we’re prideful, fearful, or full of ego? Or are we stepping out on faith here?
This is why things get uncomfortable before they get better. Why things seemingly feel worse before they ease up. The elevation taking place can no longer be tethered to what you once deemed safe. It was only familiar.
The mind-body-spirit connection is powerful when you’re able to see it as the harmonious, intelligent system it’s always been. The discomfort you feel in the mind and body is only a manifestation of what’s happening in the Spirit. Your Spirit. But when you acknowledge & agree within your own Spirit that a shift must happen, all other aspects of self follow suit.
When the shift happens, maybe you don’t really notice the change internally. But you do start to notice you spend more time in nature. Or you really take a deep look at yourself in the mirror for the first time in a while. Your overall appearance becomes more intentional. The foods you eat are more nourishing. It’s as if your Spirit settles back into your body, and it’s doing its best to clear the clutter.
This is a pivotal moment in our healing and spiritual journeys. The seed was planted long before you felt the shift. It’s up to us to make choices and decisions that support the alignment taking place.
One of the most damning things we can do is to not give ourselves permission to evolve and grow. If there’s breath in your body, there’s still something to learn. This doesn’t make previous versions of you wrong nor stupid for not seeing things the way you’ve evolved to see them now. Please give yourself grace, here.
The inquiry is the moment where we check in with our Spirit. From there, it’s time to really think about what healing means for us and if our current conditions support it. At the end of the day, you are responsible for your own healing. Our descendants also carry what we don’t resolve, and the last thing we want to do is come to our final days leaving potential on the table.
Most importantly, you owe it to the version of you that’s waiting to break through the noise of all that wanted you complacent. There is no rush, trust yourself through this. Hope this helps.
With love,
