If you’re one who pays attention to the stars, the support and alignment they’re giving feels like the warmest hug from God/Source/Universe.
We’re celebrating Pride month. Chiron moved into Taurus on Juneteenth, bringing our personal values to the forefront. Cancer season, marked by the summer solstice, shines light on what we consider home. (Also, Happy Father’s Day!) So many harmonious synchronicities supporting us like a loving Father, but at a soul level.
With that, as I sit with Spirit on this day I am met with a question that turns these harmonies internal for us all to consider: How does what you’re building support you?
Let’s get into it.
Cancer season always seems to remind me of family and legacy. I think of family compounds with the family crests on the gates. I also think of the way we could go in Black American home on New Years, see field peas and greens on the table, and know exactly why. Our Black Ancestors were rich in ways that give new meaning to generational wealth, teaching us the wisdom and Spirit laced within the customs and traditions that carry us present day.
In that same breath, a lot of us are also building infrastructures and systems in hopes of passing that torch forward to our descendants. A legacy in your own way, if you will. All very honorable, necessary ways to give back while leaving your mark. But Spirit is also asking us, how is what you’re building hold and support you in this season?
Society has pushed this narrative that fast is best. We’re losing the value of creative processes, slower paces, and the wisdom only time and experience can teach. If we’re losing all that, we’re losing the Spirit of it. Fast food just doesn’t hit the same way soul food hits.
As a result, there’s this tendency for our work to carry that very essence. A soulless, spiritless product. There’s a reason why old school music still gets played in this household. The instruments were real. The lyrics held weight that grounds. The voice was authentic, raw, and laced with passion.
But what metric are we measuring ourselves to? Spirit made us with our own unique special skills and talents that bring a certain Spirit and life to what you do in a way no one else can emulate. If we were here to be robots producing and creating with no sense of Spirit, there’d be no point to any of this shit.
Your gifts aren’t yours solely for the benefit of those around you. The way you use those gifts to create your life’s work is also meant to heal and bring out something beautiful inside of you. The past experiences that fuel your reasons behind your passions served a specific purpose: to be the medicine that heals you first. Then and only then can what you create serve others to its fullest capacity.
I think of the stories my mom would tell me about the meals she grew up eating. The only seasonings they could had access to were salt and pepper, but let her tell it, they were the best. Those meals were made with love. That’s the difference.
So again I ask, how are you being held by what you’re leaving behind? Where do you fit in the grand scheme of things? With our Black traditions, they held so long because Spirit was the navigator. It’s in our blood because it’s part of our Spirit.
Once what you produce is introduced to the world, it no longer belongs solely to you. Now, the sacred place you created from is infiltrated with opinions and perceptions that have very little to do with you. So, instead of being rooted in the truth you created with, you sway. If you’re not fully present in the process, it’s easy for the external to influence your feelings towards it.
Being present ensures you know exactly what you’re building, why you’re building it, and what it all means to you. No one can take that from you.
With the support of the cosmos and every Spirit here for your highest good, Spirit is asking us to be present in what we’re creating to leave behind. What you’re creating to hold others should also be substantial enough to hold you. Hope this helps!
With love,
