Welcome to Pisces season! Here on Tarot Tuesday, we take the time to dig deeper into the astrological seasons through the wisdom of Tarot. Expect posts like these each time the Sun transits to a new zodiac (or when I’m inspired.)

The Tarot card I find best fits the energy of Pisces season is…The Moon.

The Moon is the 18th card of the Major Arcana of Tarot. Major themes around this card include:
- Cohesion between our light and shadow selves
- Secrets/Hidden agendas
- External influences hidden to the seeker
and more.

Right before this card, we dealt with the energy of healing, rebuilding, and restructuring through the Aquarian wisdom of The Star. Now, we are being asked to continue building while acknowledging and integrating our shadow selves as part of what makes us who we are instead of running from it.
Pisces comes at the end of the zodiac. When this season approaches, it is time to reflect over all the lessons you’ve learned since Aries season began the year prior. It’s a time to get RAW with yourself. To see what you’ve done well and also to give grace and acknowledgement to the parts of you that you hide not only from the public, but more importantly with yourself.
The Moon isn’t here to chastise you, to call out your failures, nor to bring shame to you for making the choices you made with the knowledge you had at the time. It is here to uncover those repressed parts of the unconscious that drive us to show up in the world the way we do.
⏸️ Let’s pause and get clear on definitions:
Repression – The involuntary mental process where memories are pushed down, buried and forgotten. You’re not aware you’ve forgotten those memories. This is passive control.
Unconscious – The part of your mind that stores repressed memories, thoughts, or feelings. You don’t have conscious memory of certain experiences, but they affect how you think or feel about certain things.
Ok, back to the program. ▶️
What’s important to note here is that our shadows are built around more than personal beliefs and decision making. It extends outward to external influences that shaped you into who you’ve become. Jupiter’s influence encourages wisdom to emerge from all you’ve experienced that serves as your foundation moving forward. Neptune’s energy brings the ability to dream it. To see the vision of your desires to make manifestations seamless. The water element of The Moon really drives home the importance of using our intuition to navigate through it all.
So, when this card comes up for you, it is time to take a pause to look at the entire picture of how you got here (or whatever situation you’re reading into).
Tips for navigating through Pisces season with The Moon in mind:
- Journal/Write/Voice Record responses to these prompts:
- How have external influences (society, parents, religion, relationships, etc.) affected your sense of self?
- Where is the line drawn between those external influences and personal accountability?
- What is it about this situation I’m reading into that I’m not seeing or acknowledging?
- Invest in your mental health. Gotta get to the core of you.Invest in a qualified professional to guide you through it, or do it yourself if you can safely.
- Meditate (honestly, should be #1) Can’t change what you aren’t aware of.-Find a consistent day(s) and time you can show up for yourself. No distractions.-Start with setting your intentions with yourself & your Spirits.-Then, start with 5 minutes in silence, increase your time in increments that work for you.-Reflect and give thanks to your Spirits/Guides.
There’s so much depth and nuance to each Tarot card and I’m here to help you make sense of it all.
